Our Story

On June 14th 2018, our founder William Gordon and his 3 best friends, Jake, Jacob and Ben drove around the island of Barbados on what become known as the first ever “Bool Culture Island Tour.”

The phrase “Bool Culture” was coined by Ben. It means “laid back, relaxed and chilled out.” It paints a picture of Caribbean life. “Bim” is a local nickname for Barbados. Hence the name, Bool Culture Bim.

After realising that you could drive around the entire island in just one day, the group decided to make this voyage an annual event.

After University split the group apart the following year, the COVID pandemic in 2020 ensured that it would not be possible for the tradition to continue as originally planned.

Out of the pandemic came a renewed sense of purpose. A vision to share the beauty of our island with visitors from a true local’s perspective in honour of that first voyage. At Bool Culture Bim, we want you to leave Barbados satisfied that you have truly had the “Ultimate Island Experience.”
